Crypto Valley Conference 2026: Insights for AML Teams
Key insights on crypto crime, AI governance, asset recovery, and digital asset adoption.
Crypto Valley Conference 2026 in Zug brought together regulators, exchanges, and blockchain analytics vendors. Four themes dominated the AML track: cross-chain laundering, AI governance in compliance, asset recovery workflows, and institutional adoption of stablecoins.
On laundering, panelists agreed that mixers and cross-chain bridges shortened the median time from theft to obfuscation to under two seconds for many recent hacks. Real-time monitoring is no longer optional.
On AI governance, compliance officers stressed the need for auditable model outputs. Automated risk scoring must remain explainable to regulators, especially where transaction blocks or account freezes are involved.
The recovery workshops highlighted a growing cooperation between analytics providers, law enforcement, and exchanges — the same triangle that made the Bybit bounty response effective earlier this year.
